‘Aperture’ by Jestico + Whiles

As part of Clerkenwell Design Week 2018, Jestico + Whiles created ‘Aperture’, an interactive installation using PORCELANOSA Group’s next generation material, Krion™.

The immersive sculpture experiments with light, form and perspective and comprised 64 fins of the solid material which were dynamically lit, creating a unique visual experience.

Influenced by the rich history of Clerkenwell, Jestico + Whiles‘ installation is a sculptural homage to George Eastman’s Kodak factory which was situated in the area in the late 19th century.

A study on aperture and light, the installation was made from Krion™, a material warm to the touch that resembles natural stone and consists of two-thirds natural minerals and a low percentage of high-resistance resins.

Aperture signifies the first time that Jestico + Whiles have participated in Clerkenwell Design Week since they moved into their new offices in the area in 2017.

With thanks to Visual Energy for the lighting design, and Lumenpulse for their lighting.
